Would you like to visit the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area but do not have a suitable vehicle? Join us on a tour; we know the area, the best places to stay and will show you the lesser known attractions of the region at affordable South African tariffs.
The Baviaanskloof, or the "Valley of Baboons", is hidden away in the south western corner of the Eastern Cape Province in South Africa. This catchment area known as the Kouga - Baviaanskloof Mountain Catchment Complex is rapidly assuming national conservation and heritage prominence.
Little is known about this vast, brooding mountain refuge which has been managed by Cape Nature Conservation since 1987. The complex represents the largest consolidated conservation area in the region (180 000 hectares).
Our sight-seeing tours through the Baviaanskloof cover the area between Port Elizabeth and Willowmore, and the memorable route is filled with scenic wonders mostly untouched by the hand of man.
Although the area teems with wildlife ranging from eland and leopard to baboon, it is only the last that is often seen when they cross the narrow tracks with their typical arrogant air.
